WOW! You are turning 2 BIG BOY! The last year FLEW by, and so much happened. You learned to walk, run, and talk! You are still my sweet snuggly Wilson! I cannot tell you how precious and fun you are and how blessed I am to be your mommy! Your big blue eyes and sweet smile melt my heart every day. You love to play outside with your "big trucks," play with all your trains, and play hide and seek with daddy (you love it when daddy scares you!) I love our special "Mommy and Wilson" time when I put you to bed- we read books, say our prayers, and sing songs- I will never forget these special moments we share on a daily basis. I dont know what I would do without your daily hugs and kisses! You are my sweetheart Wilson, and daddy I continue to pray that the Lord will keep you safe and healthy and that you see HIM and give HIM Glory for everything. We love you with all of our hearts and look forward to you enjoying being the BIG 2!! I hope you have fun at your "Thomas the Train" party and spending time with family and friends. You are LOVED BABY BOY!!

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year! We went to Sevierville and spent 4 days with my family and then spent Christmas day at the Dream Come True Farm with Ryan's family. Wilson LOVED opening all his presents, and screaming out "THOMAS!!" I can hear him in the living room playing with all of his toys now!!
The Lord has overwhelmingly blessed my family this year! We have had a great time in the Boro as Ryan finished school and spending time with Liz and the boys. As I reflect it's amazing to see how God has taken care of us in so many ways! We couldn't of gone through the last year without mine and Ryan's parents. I could cry to think about the love and support they gave us! God is so GOOD and I give ALL the Glory to Him! I am looking forward to see what the Lord has for us back at our house in Maryville in 2011!!

A Day in a Life...

Wow, it has been a while so this will be a short and sweet "A DAY IN A LIFE OF THE SHEPHERDS." We moved to M'boro in January for Ryan to get his Master's! And well he did! He graduated with Honors on Dec. 18th, I am so proud of him. The last year has consisted of us getting through school, me working part time, Ryan working two jobs, and Wilson starting pre-school. He has loved attending Northside Preschool! So with a boy our days are spent having fun playing outside (with Carter and Mason), playing with tractors and trains and of course riding our dirtbikes around the apartment! Wilson is talking like crazy and has the funnest personality! We are moving back to our house in Maryville in January and Ryan will fly until he gets an Air Traffic Control Job which will take about a year or so. God has continually blessed our lives with friends and family! I never want to take for granted a second with my precious family. I love my boys!!

Did you miss me? This summer has been so crazy!! Do you ever feel like sometimes you GO, GO, AND THEN GO some more and then you get to the point where you STOP and your frozen but everything else around you keeps going?? That is where I am now!! Ryan is back in school, still working his two jobs which includes his crazy flying schedule and I am still working Part Time. Wilson started his first week at PreSchool at Northside Baptist (BITTERSWEET) so needless to say it has been an emotional time for MOMMA!! Time flies when all you feel like you do is work out everyone's schedule!! Ill post pics soon of this crazy summer!! Have a great week!!

It has been over a week since my last post. I hope you missed me!! I will let the pictures show you how precious and sweet my new little neice is, I am such a proud auntie!! I spent all last week with her and when I left my sister made the comment now they may actually be able to spend some time with THEIR daughter. What can I say, I am crazy in love with my precious neices and nephews!!

Isabella Shea Boyce was born Tuesday, July 6th weight 6 lbs and 12.4 ounces and 18 inches long! She is our little Pocahontas Baby, beautiful! Snow White Olivia calls her Cinderella Isabella!

Today I am sad! I am spending my last day with My Lillie Girl. I have praying the last few weeks about giving Lillie away but would wait as long as it took to find the 'perfect mommy and home.' The Lord provided-I am taking her over to her new home this evening with mixed emotions. I really have a Peace about this and I know in the long run it's best for Lillie. We are hardly ever home and I know when the timing comes for a new little Shepherd it would be even tougher giving attention to Lillie. She gave me love and companionship while Ryan was gone on flights and she would lay on my belly when I was preggo!! We had 4 wonderful years with her and I have cherished every moment. I am glad we will be able to visit her often!! Keep me in my prayers as I say goodbye tonight! Thanks!

Wilson's Big Boy Hair Cut!!

Ok, so I have issues. Wilson has had only one haircut and it was getting a little out of control. Poor little buddy was burning up with all his hair!! But as his mommy, I have to admit I don't like seeing my baby become my toddler (sad sigh). We went to Sports Clips and thankfully the lady had a little 17 month old boy so she understood my craziness as I said "that's probably good" with each snip! Ryan knows me too well- he kept texting "CUT IT SHORT." It looks really cute.
(I think he knew it was a big change for mommy, he hugged my neck as I rocked him asleep tonight; my cup runneth over!)

I think he looks more like Ry with his new do! What do you think?

The Small Moments- TRUSTING!

I have blogged about this before but wanted to share something! So many of you know we moved to M'boro in January, and it has been a little tough for me but lately the Lord is really helping me love and appreciate the small things here. I may not like living in an apartment, going back to work (part time), being away from my family, and did I mention the apartment? But I LOVE spending time with my nephews, going to the pool with Wilson (one of the two perks of the apt!), watching my in-laws build their dream home, and spending time with sister in laws!! I know God has us here for a reason and recently God showed us his Grace and Ryan got an opprotunity to fly part time. I love that he is able to do what he loves!

So I hope Ryan reads this and stops calling me negative Nancy!
God is teaching me to fully trust him when we make life decisions. HE loves us more than anyone and HE will take care of us in the midst of anything!! We ARE HIS children!!

I am thankful HE is still teaching/molding me!

The Food Genie

Everyday whether I am driving home from work or spending the day with my little man at around 4:30 I wish I could blink my eyes or tap my foot and someone would cook us dinner. I wouldn't mind cleaning the dishes afterwards. My mother in law lives REAL close and she will bless us with an amazing meal often but in two months she will be moving 45 minutes away. So maybe someone will invent the Food Genie before this occurs.

Unexpected Blessing

I came home from work last night feeling exhausted as I am getting over my 60th cold for the year (a little exaggeration). I walked in to kisses from my son and my wonderful hubby cleaning out Wilson's closet (thanks honey). We of course needed groceries but Ryan suggested we go feed the duckies before the dreaded Walley trip. It was hot but thought it would be fun to see Wilson throwing the bread at the ducks.

As I watched Wilson on Ryan's shoulders throwing bread I was overwhelmed, God quietly reminded me to soak up this moment. And I did, I know when Wilson goes to school, graduates High School, gets married, has his own family I will never forget seeing him follow his daddy around the river as we fed the duckies. It was a special moment for me! I love when the Lord allows me to see HIM through these memories. This is an early HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to Ryan, it makes me smile to see Wilson imitate everything he does!! Ryan- you are an amazing Father- thank you.

Ok, Ok- I know most of you know little Wilson but because I am that crazy momma who cant stop blogging, talking, and facebooking about my little joy I just wanted to share a few pictures to give you a glimpse of his personality, especially for our friends and family who dont get the opprotunity to see him often. I will tell you this: He LOVES to laugh, he gives hugs/kisses freely, if he could LIVE outside he would, he just started running- EVERYWHERE, starting to enjoy the pool- swimming lessons start in July, his face lights up when daddy comes home, likes to pull Lillie's ears (she hates it), snorts when he laughs really hard, very ticklish (especially under arms and neck), loves to play in the pantry, has this funny "evil" laugh when he gets into something he shouldn't, talks and jabbers ALOT, loves to spend time with his cousins, makes truck noises to everything (even when he eats), and my favorite part is he STILL lets me ROCK him to sleep at night!! I know one day he wont but until then- I CHERISH each night night!

The differences between my husband and myself have been the basis for many fights. My husband likes everything in its place while I never even notice when things are a mess. He is very outgoing, able to recall people's names easily. In contrast, I am almost a recluse and can't even remember the faces of people I've met.
One day, following weeks of tension and fighting triggered by these differences, we began to make a study of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We recognized our own particular spiritual gifts, and they were totally opposite from each other. This led us to recognize other differences, acknowledge those differences by name, learn to accept them in each other, and then grow to appreciate them for the balance they give to our marriage relationship. I cannot adequately convey the blessing this has been, the peace that has resulted, and the love that has increased between us simply because after years of doing it "my way," we finally followed the Creator's wise directions for diversity in our marriage.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating our Savior's life/death/VICTORY! Gma, Gpa, Auntie E, Eric and Stephanie all came to the boro! The past few weeks Ryan, Wils, and I have been sick with sinus infections, stomach flu, hives, and more sinus infections. To be completely honest I have been really bummed and just tired of feeling sick. I think I have felt down due to being home sick, physically sick, and the weather. During the last month the Lord has shown me how much he blessed me with an amazing husband. He works hard in school, has been taking incredible care of Wils, and pretty much did most of the housework. I pray I never take for granted all my husband does for Wilson and I. Wilson is for sure a daddy's boy- but I dont blame him!!!!!

"TO GOD ALONE"

Riverside Mission has had an AMAZING week, and that is putting it lightly. Because the Lord CHOSE to lead this group and they were obedient to follow I will see over 180 Hondurans in Heaven one day!!! They now know of the wonderful SAVIOR- we often take for granted. When they lay their heads down to go to sleep they can look up and know they will never be ALONE- GOD IS WITH THEM AND LOVES THEM!
Here is a quick recap from Dad:
This week we fed 500 families....we served 12,400 individual meals, gave away 250 new pair of shoes..200 Bibles given away..Distributed $375,000.00 dollars in Medical Supplies, and gave free Dental cleanings to the Hope House Orphanage! BUT the greatest thing is 188 people CONFESSED Christ as Savior this WEEK!!

AMAZING HONDURAS UPDATE: The first 24!

My dad just called and updated me on their first 24 hours in Honduras! It has been in one word- AMAZING! In just 24 hours they delivered medical supplies, passed out 25 Bibles in the clinic, 2 people were saved, and they assembled 500 bags to be delivered to the river tomorrow. The Lord has already shown his faithfulness to this group! AND THAT'S NOT ALL!
Dad was in tears as he was telling me what happened today at the clinic: In September the group went to the clinic and prayed for patients and there was a young girl who was VERY ILL, she was unable to walk or even sit up. The group laid hands and prayed over her as Pastor Miguel translated. Days later the young girl WALKED out of the clinic and told the nurse to tell the group that prayed over her she believes it was because their obedience she was healed!!! The nurse told our group today with excitement; please continue to pray for decisions, relationships, and that the Hand Of God continues to guide them! GOD IS SO GOOD!!

Tomorrow they will pass out the food to the river and assemble the shoes for the BIG SHOE PROJECT Wednesday! Please pray for these precious people that they will be serving tomorrow!

Unbearable Pain!

Last week one of our close family friend's 19 year old daughter passed away from a car wreck. This week I have been following Layla Grace's blog (www.laylagrace.org). She is a beautiful 2 year old girl dying of cancer and I cannot get this family off of my mind. Saturday morning my mother called and told me one of my friends from high school (Candace and Kevin Moon) gave birth to her son at 21 weeks and lost the baby- Carson James Moon. My pain shifted and hurt a little deeper because I know this family. I cannot imagine the sense of loss, the emotions, and all of the questions. There is so much heartache, grief, and pain happening all around me- it's overwhelmingly unbearable at times (and it's not even happening to me directly). As I took about 30 minutes to message Candace staring at the cursor trying to find the 'right' words to say- I came up empty so I offered the only thing I have- PRAYER! My heart physically hurt for this precious mother, I started crying and I felt the Lord whisper "Remember what I went through?" WOW- He endured the greatest pain of all- watching HIS SON suffer and sacrificing HIM for US. My pain grew larger but gave a glimpse of HOPE that even when people ENDURE the most they can bear HE is carrying us, guiding us, whispering to us, reminding us- HE HAS CONQUERED IT ALL. HE is our HOPE. This is my prayer to all of my family and friends who are in the midst of the biggest storm in their lives. I am on my knees- PRAYING you will feel his Peace- his HOPE.

I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves but let me run down Wilson's Big Birthday Bashes. On his actual birthday Grammy Shep made us 3 dinner and a cake for Wils. We ate and then let him run around in his BIRTHDAY SUIT, which by the way is his favorite thing to do. Saturday, 2/20, we had his big party at Grammy Love's house with 52 people being there I would say Wilson is LOVED and BLESSED. The weather was 65 so the kids played outside. Wilson ate pizza, we watched the DVD I made him, he dove into his cake (which he LOVED), and then he opened up his wonderful gifts- after that- he slept for 2.5 hours- HE WAS POOPED. God has truly blessed us with our JOY. Thanks to everyone who came and loved on him!! ENJOY THE PICS!

I read this blog today and it touched my heart. Let me review you on what you are about to read: This family of 5 is about to lose their 2 year old to cancer. The mother is blogging about her precious life- her name is Layla Grace. She is in hospice now and holding on and the mother is spending the last moments with her precious daughter AS I TYPE. If you read on down her blog she has a post called "Sleep, Valentine's Day, and Regrets"- it had tears running down my face. To think sometimes I could ever get annoyed when Wilson follows me around or if I dont get a full night's sleep. When I hear of families that have to go through this my heart hurts with burden/loss for them. It makes me appreciate ALL and EVERYTHING that comes with my sweet/precious son. Please join me and pray for this mommy, daddy, and sisters as they embrace and endure the last few moments with their daughter. And please appreciate EVERY MOMENT with your children/nieces/nephews/grandchildren- LIFE IS A VAPOR!

Happy First Birthday Sweet Wilson

I was so excited because Wilson woke up before I left for work this morning so as I was feeding him I told him ALL about giving birth to him ONE YEAR AGO TODAY! He just looked at me with those big blue eyes SO SERIOUS. It was almost like he was thinking, "WOW MOM YOU DID ALL OF THAT FOR ME?" We put up FIRST BIRTHDAY banners and took pictures. Ryan spent the morning with him (I did not want to leave). But he brought Wilson over so we could have lunch together! We ate at Mccallister's and talked about how pretty soon Wilson will be walking into places-CRAZY- (Sidenote 'I need to buy him some shoes')! Grammy Shep is going to cook us dinner and made a special dessert for him. Tommorrow morning we are going to his ONE YEAR well baby check up and then the rest of the day will be our mommy/son date. I am thinking TARGET- hey, I can take him to places like that now because he doesnt know the difference- there will be a time where he will scream 'NO I DONT WANT TO GO THE STORE!!' I dread that day because I LOVE ME SOME TARGET!
We are driving to Sevierville this weekend for his party on Saturday- I am so excited for him to celebrate with all of our family/friends who love him so much. I pray he always knows how loved and blessed he is. Here are some recent pictures- ENJOY- I will post bday pics soon.

Dear Wilson,
My heart is full of joy as I write to you. You are turning one and growing so fast. As I look back the past year and smile at all of the wonderful memories excitement floods through me to know we are just going to make many more!! You have always been the most laid back, happy, snuggly baby. I love your laugh, the way your cheeks are red when you wake up, when you lay your head on my chest as I rock you to sleep, the way you eat (usually in 1 minute flat), when you open up your mouth to give me your sweet kisses, and the way your BIG BLUE eyes light up when you look at your daddy. There are many nights your daddy and I lay in bed talking of how BLESSED we are God chose us to be your parents. Your sweet spirit, fun-loving personality is really starting to shine through. You love to roughhouse with daddy, play peek-a-boo with Lillie, help me with the laundry, clap when you hear music (I smile just thinking of the way you clap), and your new favorite game is "CHASE"- you love to be chased around the house. Always know that we pray for you everyday- we pray God continues to keep you healthy and safe and you will see HIS LOVE through our parenting, marriage, our words, and our day-to-day. My prayer as your mother is that you will grow to know Jesus at an early age and will serve him everyday of your life. You are our GIFT and you are HIS. I love you more than you will ever know. Please pray for the Waser family. They have been family friends of ours for over 20 years. Their 17 year old daughter, Jenny, got in a horrible car accident this morning and is now in the arms of Jesus. Everyone is obviously taking it really hard and at a time like this- Prayer is the only thing we can do. Please join me on my knees to pray for God's Peace during this time- there are no words and God is the only one who can truly give comfort.

Ryan and I took Wilson and Carter to the Discovery Center Saturday and had so much fun. That place is AWESOME- Carter showed us the ropes. Wilson loved playing and watching all of the people- I am afraid he may make some people feel uncomfortable with all of his stares but HE loves watching. We had a great day!

Hey guys!! I hope everyone has had a great week and you have taken a moment to spend time with GOD before you start your day- I must be honest I failed a little and ended up doing my study on my lunch break a few days! Oh the power of LAZINESS.
Here is what GOD taught me this week:

1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give THANKS in ALL circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." -WOW- LOVE THAT.

At different points in my life I have struggled with what God's Will is for my life and I believe this scripture reminds me that REGARDLESS what is going on- life decisions, sickness, the day to day struggle- I can choose to "rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks, and be reassured that THIS is HIS WILL for my life. This isn't easy either- Life is tough, stressful, and wonderful and sometimes it's all three at the same time!! But God is reminding me to be in a prayerful attitude and always give HIM thanks regardless of circumstances, the world, and even my own heart!

I have mentioned this book in past posts but wanted to talk about what God has taught me through reading it. I want to first say that it's very important to read the Bible before any other book but with saying that I also believe that God has his HAND on other resources to encourage/grow our spiritual walk. God has used this book in my life at this moment and I just wanted to share! Before I start I urge everyone to purchase it (I got a great deal on Amazon.com), it's an amazing story of how God used a woman to bring two men into each other's lives to impact a city, and now it seems the nation. Please comment and let me know if you have read it or plan on reading it- I would love to blog with you about it!

I wont spoil the book but during a rough time in Ron's life God reminded him to "PRAY WITHOUT CEASING"- God struck something in my heart that I believe he is trying to teach me. First HE convicted me about being in the Word and Praying FIRST thing in the morning. In the past I would've thought as long as I do my quiet time 'sometime' during the day it's fine. But as I thought about those words "PRAY WITHOUT CEASING" it was clear how can I do that on a daily basis if I am not allowing myself to be filled with HIS Word and Spirit first thing in the morning. I realized that the moment I wake up insecurities, stress, 'to do' lists flood my mind and my heart. Instead of trying to carry all of that weight around I believe HE is calling me to GET UP earlier and learn how to TRULY depend on HIM! Even if that means I have to get up at 5 :30 am before work- I will not say it's going to be easy and that I wont struggle but I want to know what it's like to TRULY live a life by PRAYING WITHOUT CEASING and I believe God is trying to tell me.
I guess blogging about it will help hold me accountable! I will continue to post lessons that God is whispering to my heart- MORE TO COME!

WILSON'S FIRST BIRTHDAY BASH!

I am so excited about Wilson turning one and as a mommy I am even more excited to be throwing him a huge FIRST BIRTHDAY BASH!! I love any excuse to party but it will be amazing to have all of our family and friends who LOVE him on a daily basis to come together and CELEBRATE!!
(I have a confession- I have secretly been excited about this party since the day I found out I was pregnant!!)

I have a feeling Wilson will take after his daddy and be a PILOT!! A few weeks ago we went to ATL and celebrated Craig's retirement from the CDC. The restaurant where the ceremony was held was at an airport and you could put the headsets on and listen to the controllers and planes coming in!! IT WAS PRETTY COOL. SORRY GUYS- I know many of you have been on the edge of your seat waiting on an update! haha-Just kidding.
LIFE IS GOOD. Ryan is busy with classes and I am working a few days a week in Franklin. Thanks to Grammy Shep Wilson gets loved and taken care of by one of his two favorite grammy's. We are finally getting settled and in a routine- WILSON IS GETTING SO BIG and in a few weeks WILL BE ONE! He is taking LOTS of steps and pretty much any day now he will probably be running around with his cousins. He just gets sweeter and sweeter to be with! HE IS MY JOY!

I miss my family like crazy but there is a sense of comfort being back in the Boro- it's great seeing old friends!! Wilson had his first play date with Troy today- NOTE TO SELF: hold off play dates during teething- no they had a great time! And momma had a great time and conversation with Angela. God is already blessing our lives with wonderful people! He has shown us in more ways than one how much he LOVES and CARES for us- even with the small things.

The Lord is continuing to grow us spiritually and strengthening our marriage- I am learning that God cares about the small insecurities we HOLD and ANCHOR ourselves too- and HE wants us to DEPEND and Search HIS Word DAILY. For those of you who havent read "SAME KIND OF DIFFERENT AS ME!!" BUY IT NOW. It's an amazing- True story of how God brought these two men together through one amazing Godly woman! They are in the process of making a movie of it now. PLEASE READ IT! LOVE TO ALL.

Parents Visit

My parents came Tuesday for a few days and brought our doggie Lillie!!!! It feels a little more like home with my Lil! We had a wonderful time, we painted pottery, drank coffee (How do you say NON FAT MILK?- sorry inside joke with momma), shopped, ate, drank coffee, and shopped!! HEHE. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH- Ryan and I are so blessed with wonderful parents who support, pray, and love us with all of their hearts. What an amazing Legacy we can continue with our Wilson! Wilson LOVED being with Grammy and Papaw and pretty much laughed the whole time! When they were leaving he gave Grammy Love two kisses and waved bye- he has only waved a couple times before. Romans 8:28 "God works everything out to the good for those who love him."
This has been one of my favorite scriptures and this verse has sustained me through many trials in 2009. I was listening to a Christian radio station here in the Boro and the DJ said something amazing about this particular verse- He said many people think this verse means that when you Love God everything will be fine and God will turn the bad things in your life to good. He said he believes that God also uses your pain and suffering for other people's good! He gave an example of someone close to you dying but because of the death people were saved. Even when you are going through a hard time in your life and you are seeking out HIS Good in it- look at other people's lives, their situations, and remember that HE works out everything to HIS Good and HIS Purpose.

Boro Residents

We are here in the Boro!! We have been here about a week. Ryan started work today and starts school Jan. 14. I am going to start subbing hopefully next week. We are enjoying the apartment and spending time with Grammy, Pops, Chuck, Liz and the boys, Sara and Holly. Jeff and Amanda came in last week as we celebrated the New Year!! It feels weird being back- it's almost like we are on vacation and it brings back memories of the good ole College days. We hope to catch up with friends and enjoy our time here. I miss my family and cant wait for my parents to come see us next week!!
Wilson has had a few firsts this past week. He is drinking from a sippy cup, walking behind his firetruck toy by himself, and he learned today how to pick up his leg and get off of it. He is getting SO big- he would rather walk than crawl. He LOVES playing with his cousins- they already have so many memories!! It's hard to believe in just about a month he will be 1!!!!! Breaks my heart! Thank you all for your prayers. I will keep you updated!!

As Jesus and His disciples rested together on the mountainside, we have the beautiful picture of the Good Shepherd, making His sheep lie down in green pastures, leading them beside the still waters, that He might restore them on the inside. Jesus knew the demands that would be made on the disciples and Himself that very day, and He knew in order to meet those demands, they had to have some time alone together.

Again and again, I have been amazed to discover that the verse of Scripture or thought or insight that God seems to give me in my early morning quiet time with Him is the very same verse or insight or thought I am called on to give to someone else during the day. Many times I have wondered how I would have been able to speak a "word that sustains the weary," had I not first received it for myself in those brief, early morning retreats. Jesus offers us ample resources, but we have to receive them from Him in order to impart them to others.

So God taught me a lesson recently: To not always follow my heart! WHAT? I have always been taught by many people to do just that but as God is slowly stripping away every thing that is not of HIM he is teaching me this! I must allow God to Lead my heart to keep my emotions and flesh in check with HIS WILL. Wow- it definitely does not happen over night, but I thank God for keeping HIS Word and Lessons Fresh and New to my heart. We serve an amazing God- and I pray I am obedient and disciplined to continue to listen! Conviction is hard but worth every pain.

We got renters!!! Praise GOD- he answered our prayers with a sweet couple that has a 6 month old baby boy, which is perfect! We are so excited because we rented an apartment in M'boro in faith that we would find someone to rent and we did!! Thanks for all your prayers and support!

We will move End of Dec - First of Jan to M'boro. Ry starts school mid - Jan. Please pray as we transition little Wils to this new and exciting chapter!

I was sick last night so I went to bed at 7pm! I heard Ry and Wils playing and laughing- I hated to miss out but couldnt move. He informed me that Wilson changed the oil on his tractor and was working hard. Here are the pictures, they are so cute. Ry is such a good dada, I am blessed.

9 MONTHS

Wilson is such a growing healthy boy- 19 LBS and 28 Inches long! He is such a happy and joyful baby- that is what the Dr. said!! He is getting ready to transition to table food and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner with mommy and daddy (with a few bottles in bw until he is one). I cannot believe it!! He is growing so fast. Here are some of his wonderful NEW things he is doing:

He is ALMOST crawling, he has inched and scooted- but is about to TAKE OFF.
He has two teeth
He loves to watch basketball on tv (especially Lady Vols)- we have been watching the games
He continues to laugh so hard at Lillie and tries to share his toys with her
He loves to stand and can take steps with you holding his arms- he feels like a big boy
He makes a new face where he scrunches his nose- his GGMA taught him this by feeding him a strawberry- look at FB to watch the video!
The most excited he gets is when dada comes home from work!! He screams and moves his arms
He loves his John Deere tractor his pops and grammy shep got him- he is going to be a John Deere boy I think! Just like his cousin Carter
He can feed himself a bottle and food
He gets jealous when I eat and always has to have some
He rolls all over the place when he plays

HERE ARE SOME PICS OF THE WEEKEND: He loved spending time with his GGMA and GGPA! He laughed and hugged on GGMA and he let GGPA rock him on his lap for about an hour! I love them creating memories together, it melts my heart!!

PLAYING CATCH UP!

Wow- lots of catching up to do: here it's in a nutshell:

Ry, Wils, and I are heading to the Boro in Jan so Ry can get his Masters in Aviation Education and his Air Traffic Control Certificate at MTSU. He will graduate in Dec. 2010 (one year!). He will then have some training and wait for a position to be open, our goal is to request TN and get back to the Maryville area. We are excited but overwhelmed with this new chapter. We are now trying to sell or rent our house (in a bad market) and sorting out ALL of the details. But our Hope and Trust is in the Lord, He has been testing our faith and I cant say it has been easy. Please pray as we push forward- this year has been tough but GOD IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL even when we are not.

Ill post some pics on the next post.

WILSON UPDATE:
He is getting his first two teeth on the bottom and poor lil guy is having a hard time. He is also going through a BIG growth spurt. He has his 9 month check up Nov. 17. He LOVES to play and jump in his Johnny Jumper (he jumps so high in that thing). He is saying momma, dada, nana, and just learned his S sound. He is very talkative and can do the Lizard where he sticks his tongue out. He is Mr. Curious and still loves to hug and kiss. He is our JOY!

Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Our family is busy making wonderful and new changes in our lives. It's scary and refreshing at the same time. I will keep you posted on the details soon.

Wilson is getting SO BIG. And doing new things daily. He rolls around the floor like crazy and can crawl backwards. It will not be long until he is all over the place!! He says dada when he first wakes up in the mornings and says momma when he is hungry or upset. It's cute when he learns new words- he also makes so many noises with his lips and LOVES to spit. He just started shaking his head- sometimes it fits perfectly when you ask him something, it's funny.

He still laughs hysterically at Lillie. He is starting to reach for people- on Sunday I went to pick him up from nursery and he leaned over me to reach for Ry. At first I was like OH MAN and then I saw how happy it made Ry so it was all good. He still is the sweetest- I just got him up from his nap and he wrapped his hands around my neck and squeezed so hard. I didn't want him to let go. He just gets cuter and more fun every second!

Decisions, Decisions

The reason I am posting this is I am assuming the ones that read this blog are mostly family with a few friends -actually I am not sure how many even look at the page BUT for the ones that do please pray for us! We have a few decisions to make regarding our future careers and other important details that go along with that..... We are putting it in God's hands and praying!!

God has really tested me lately with TRUSTING him- with my parents and husband in Honduras during a political unrest/ lockdown, and with my Great Aunt getting into a severe and horrific car accident- and now with some important decisions- I have really struggled with giving all of my stress and control to GOD. He gets us to our breaking point for a reason- to stop- be still- and listen!!

Please pray with us that the Lord will go before us and clear the path- and we would remember that control is an illusion- God owns it. I realized tonight as Ryan, Wils, and I were in the floor playing and Ry was making Wils laugh so hard that it doesn't matter where we live or what we do as long as we LIVE in those moments. God is always faithful and that is enough- I pray the Lord will remind me of this in the morning when I try to take control again. hehe.

Honduras Update:

Ryan called around 12:30 am and gave me an update. Everyone got their luggage, yay. Yesterday they went to Church with the Hope House Children and then went to lunch. They went back to the Hope House and washed the children's feet and gave each 3 new pairs of shoes. Ryan said it was such an amazing experience and the kids were so thrilled. There are 4 new children and one little girl around 1 has gotten really attached to Ryan - when he was leaving the other night she ran over to him and grabbed onto his leg and started crying. That melted his heart- he loves those kids so much. The team is also doing great- there are alot of new people that have never been so I know they are enjoying this great experience.

Please continue to pray- today they prepare and load 4 containers of food for the River People. They will work hard all day preparing and then wash the feet of the staff at the Hope House and give them new shoes this evening. Then tomorrow will be the big day where they will distribute the food for the River. Pray for Salvation and Safety. Also pray they walk in the Spirit and notice all of the small and big GOD moments that I know HE will provide.

P.S. Ryan saw the video of Wilson saying 'dada' and was so thrilled- he wanted to come home and kiss all over him. I told him not to worry- That has all Wilson has said- that was the first thing that came out of his mouth this morning at 6:30am! Kind of makes me sad bc it makes me miss him even more. But it's sweet to hear his little voice say it.

Wilson's First Words!!!!

CAN YOU GUESS?!? Of course it was "DADA" and of course it was after Ryan was out of the country!! If you want to see how precious it's go to my facebook. I am not sure how to put videos on here. It was so sweet though- I thought at first it was just a one time thing until he repeated it ALL DAY. He loves and misses Ryan already you can tell when he smiles so big and says 'DADADADA!' I LOVE MY FAMILY. We miss you dada.

Honduras update- MISSED FLIGHT?!?!?!

Ok First let me tell you that the flights that go into Honduras are only once a day!!

Well the Knoxville crew got on the plane around 7:30 am to head over to ATL and then destination Honduras. As soon as they boarded the pilot said they could not proceed due to FOG in ATL. Ryan called around 8:15 am and had me to check online well the status online said "ON TIME"- they take forever to update stuff like this. So he said to keep checking and he would call me- they had to be in ATL before 10 ish to not miss the ATL flight to Honduras.

In the meantime Wilson got really fussy so I put him in the bed with me so he could sleep - WE BOTH FELL ASLEEP. We woke up around 10-
I woke up and called dad!! I was so anxious to hear what happened.

I was hoping he wouldn't answer meaning (they were on their way to Honduras)- HE ANSWERED- He told me something CRAZY- He only had a minute and this is what he said:

"WELL WE GOT HERE AND WENT OVER TO THE GATE AND SAW THE PLANE TAXING OUT- THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTED COMING BACK- THEY HAD "ACCIDENTALLY" LEFT SOME LUGGAGE WHICH GAVE US TIME TO GET ON THE PLANE!!! And I said "WOW GOD IS ALREADY SHOWING UP AND PROVING HIMSELF TO ALWAYS BE FAITHFUL!

It's awesome when GOD shows up and proves himself in the last seconds- He wants to remind us that HE IS IN CONTROL and to always have Faith!

Just an update: This should be an amazing trip if this is how it starts before they get there!

Pray for Honduras

The team leaves Saturday morning to Honduras so please keep them in your prayers. They will be passing out medicine, handing out food to river people, going to the dump, feeding/ministering to Police Station, Projects around Hope House, Washing and Giving out shoes to the kids, and of courses loving and being with the Hope House kids. Thank you guys for always supporting us prayerfully and some financially when we go on these trips. God just continues to expand our territory and blesses each trip!

Also Pray for Wilson and I- I will be working at the campground and taking care of him all week- Pray I wont get too lonely. haha.

HAPPY 7 MONTHS TO LITTLE BLUE EYES!

WOW! Does time go by fast or what?? Little Wils is already 7 months and growing so fast. Ry and I are so blessed to have such a wonderful and HEALTHY son. He is the happiest and loviest kid in the world!! Here are some new things and old things he is doing:

He can sit up by himself- he loves doing this I think he feels independent.

He can ALMOST crawl- today he was moving his arms and waist like crazy ROCKING- once he figures out his legs -IT IS ON!

When I play fetch with Lille he laughs hysterically.

He still prefers his two Grammy's!! It's funny he just laughs and loves on them both!

His favorite toy right now is his drums- today he was hitting them so hard- it was cute.

He has LOVED everything I have given him food wise- he is not picky!

He still is the most content baby- we went to the fair for about four hours- he just looked around and even napped in his stroller. He loved the little circus we went to.

But my ultimate favorite thing still is when he sees his daddy when he gets home from work. I love how they both LIGHT up.

CRAZYLOVE!

I am not sure how many people have read this book but I recommend it to EVERYONE! "CrazyLove" By Francis Chan! He goes deep into God's Love on so many levels. I have been taught about HIS love my whole life and I am only on chapter four and already amazed of the new perspective I have on the most selfless love given. He puts it in a fresh new light- there is also many scriptures to read which I love! This is what I learned tonight!! I had to share: "The irony of God's love is that while God doesn't need us but still wants us, we desperately need God but don't really want HIM most of the time. He treasures us and anticipates our departure from this earth to be with HIM and we wonder indifferently how much we have to do for HIM to get by." WOW talk about perspective. This book is showing me how really SMALL I am! We wake up every morning thinking it's going to be an average day- checking off our to do lists and 'living life' but remember LIFE IS A VAPOR and we are not promised the very next breath. Tennessee Valley Fair

Ryan, Wilson, and I went to the TN Valley Fair in Knoxville and had the BEST time. We saw all of the AG exhibits, old antique tractors and steam engines, huge pregnant cows, some had just given birth hours earlier, we saw a wonderful circus, the mayor of Knoxville in the dunking booth, and a few mullets and women wearing no shoes. But hey, it's not a fair unless you see that! Wilson was such a wonderful baby- he took it all in with a smile- as usual. Here are some great pics!

Please continue to pray for the Shepherd family. Aunt Cindy was such an amazing woman! One memory I have of her was right after Ryan and I got married she walked up to us and gave me the biggest hug and kiss. She was always so sweet and knew how to make everyone feel so special. Keeli, my cousin Amberlee, and I have started a devotional together and it's so great! I wanted to share with you what GOD taught me today.

The last few months I have felt a strong feeling of "NOT HAVING IT TOGETHER." Come on you know the feeling- I am sure most new moms feel this way at some point but I didn't think it would last as long as it has. Even when I journal, do Bible Studies, pray, and go to church that sense of "I AM A MESS" still carries on in my head! But today GOD is changing that. The devotion reminded me that the enemy was stealing my joy and confidence I have in the Lord and myself. The devotion spoke on Mark 14:6-9 of the woman who poured her perfume on Jesus' feet. Everyone scorned her and said she could use that to sale and give to the needy - But Jesus said, "Let her alone. Why are you giving her a hard time? She has just done something wonderfully significant for me. You will have the poor with you every day for the rest of your lives. Whenever you feel like it, you can do something for them. Not so with me. She did what she could- she pre-anointed my body for burial and you can be sure that wherever in the whole world the message is preached, what she just did is going to be talked about admiringly."

WOW-It was amazing to be reminded that God has my back even when I am fighting a battle against my own mind and heart. He clearly said the same thing to me today "She did what she could." I want to strive to do everything for His Glory and do all that I can- I thank God for reminding me that no matter what he whispers "LET HER ALONE- SHE DID WHAT SHE COULD."

"By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; for whenever our heart condemns us. God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything." 1 John 3:19-20

We have so much with Wilson, I love the weekends because daddy is home and we can enjoy our big boy together!! Here are some pics of him swinging in his Honduras Soccer uniform! I love it, we are going to print one and Ryan is going to take it with him to show the kids at the Hope House!

Here are some things Wilson has been doing lately for those that dont get to see him often:

He moves all around his crib at night- He manages to turn himself all the way around in it!

He can sit up on his own but you got to watch him bc he still kind of wobbles to the side.

Still loves his jumperoo and the jumper Liz gave us on the doorframe- He loves turning around!

When he gets really sleepy he gets really giggly- at around 7 30 pm each night he starts to chuckle.

He loves to eat what your eating and LOVES the remote and our cell phones!

Lillie is his little buddy- he just watches and laughs at her!

His hair is growing back fast and Dark!

My favorite part of the day is seeing his face when Daddy walks thru the door- it's priceless! He loves his daddy so much.

We enjoy every second with him!

This week Wilson and I have gone on some great walks with my friend Monica. We have been walking around my neighborhood, and I have to tell you we have a torturous hill but it's good for the legs! It has been fun to walk and feel God's Grace every morning, it has been so beautiful too. Wilson loves it, Monica brings her dog Tank (He is 3 pounds!) and he looks over and watches him the whole time.

Wilson is also getting so big, we had to move his jumperoo up a stage and moved to stage 2 food, and he loves it. I have only given him a banana or two but that is the only adult food so far. I know we are creating a monster bc he already wants my water bottle and anything he sees me eating. He is almost sitting up by himself and when I look at the monitor in the middle of the night he as crawled to the completely other side and by the morning he is back where I put him. He loves all the room in there and he sleeps on the whole thing!

REVIVAL WEEK!

This week was revival and it was AMAZING! I haven't been to a revival since I was a teenager, it was so refreshing. I love hearing GOD's WORD and Message spoken so clearly and blatantly. There were also 5 people saved that I know of!!! WOW was it emotional to see someone come to CHRIST and realize for the first time THEY HAVE A SAVIOR. I think sometimes being a preacher's kid I can take salvation or granted or just lessen the significance of it because I have always grown up in the church but GOD has shown me this week how important HIS GRACE is to us everyday and that everyday I HAVE AND NEED A SAVIOR! Lately I have been so insecure about NOT HAVING IT ALL TOGETHER and totally NOT being a supermom but I believe the insecurity's I feel in my heart are left there for GOD to fill!!! I pray that I can really seek out GOD's WILL not just say it but actually pursue it wholeheartedly. I encourage everyone to read their Bible today and fill your life with substance and encouragement = and even conviction. And remember GOD IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL!

WOW has he grown! - he gained four pounds in two months!! My big 15 lbs boy is growing fast and literally changes daily. His personality is starting to shine through and he amazes me everyday. He is a great mixture so far of Ry and I- He is laid back and content wherever and whatever he is doing- kinda of like me but loves to be entertained and play like Ry. He has this sweet spirit about him- LOVES to rub your arm and hug on you. And when he looks into your eyes and grabs your face it melts my heart.

Here are some highlights from the last few months:

He can roll over both ways!

Sleep on his back ( most of you know what that did to momma! )

He is teething now ( I know that could last for a while )

Loves his jumparoo and plays so hard in it- He jumps side to side like a boxer!

The only time he is fussy is when food is gone! haha

Sleeping great at night

Talks so much more and loves to laugh ( especially at Lillie )

Reaches out for cell phone, remote, and of course his daddy!

He can almost sit up on his own but still wobbles from side to side

He is a people/kid watcher!

He loves to snuggle and rub you!

He scratches the sheets when he goes to sleep! I can hear it in the monitor.

He loves to be outside!

NEW WAY OF BLOGGING!!

Ok guys, I know I know it has been forever since I have updated this thing. I was inspired last night by someone else's blog so I am going to change a little bit of how I do things on here. Of course I will continue on little Wilson's growth and changes but will also include some things GOD is doing in our lives! Ryan and I have been truly blessed and I thought it would be nice to share them and also start some blog postings for mommy's!!!! I love reading other mommy blogs - you really get some great advice! So look frequently I plan to update every other day/weekly!!!! Love ya'll

Fun in the sun!

We had an amazing vacation. Wilson LOVED the beach and the water. He is getting so big, I seriously think he grew 5 inches this week. We enjoyed spending time with everyone and loved the time we had with our nephews. Carter was so much fun! I wished we lived closer to them! Grammy and Pops watched the kids one night and let us go out which was wonderful...she also watched them during the day some so I could be a beach bum. I even read a whole book. Thanks Grammy. God is so good and we are so blessed to have a wonderful family. We also loved spending quality time with Gpa and Gma! It felt great to unwind for a week.

Wilson also rolled over from his back to his belly! It's very exciting but I am a little nervous now because he wants to do it while he sleeps. We had to move him into his crib (in his own room) so he would have more room for when he wants to roll over. Mommy wasnt quite sure how she felt about this, I laid in his floor for a while to keep checking on him and then slept with the monitor. I know he will be changing so much from here on and I need some prayers while I adjust haha. Love you guys! Pictures coming soon!

Last night Ry took me and Wils out to eat Mexican and then we went to the garden to capture the most recent progress. It looks great and so far we have enjoyed onions and peppers and they have been AWESOME. The sunflowers are starting to bloom, I am so proud of him for making such a beautiful garden. ENJOY!

I think one of Wilson's favorite things is to sit/stand on daddy when he lays in the floor. He just LAUGHS and the other day HE FOUND HIS FEET! It was so sweet we had to capture it! Have I ever told you guys how much I love these boys!!! I am so blessed!

Wilson Grey- 4 months

Wilson had his four month checkup and he is a healthy growing sweet baby boy. He weighs 11 lbs and 13 ounces and 24 inches long. The doc said he is proportioned perfectly and has a wonderful disposition and also is petite. Wils loves his dr. he just laughs and smiles at him the whole exam. He is now eating bananas, squash, and applesauce with his cereal at 10 am and 6 pm. He is growing so fast and is such a joy in our lives. I get teary eyed just knowing how blessed we are with a healthy son.

He is currently learning to sleep at night and doing GREAT. The last three nights he has slept from 8:30pm to 5:00am. Pray that he continues to do good, we enjoy the sleep!

We are excited to take him to the beach July 4th!

We had a wonderful weekend in Atlanta for Father's Day and Grammy's Birthday. There have been many firsts that has happened recently. Wilson is now on stage 1 baby food and LOVES it. Wilson got to meet his great grandpa Shepherd, and we celebrated Ryan's first Father's Day!! We also got to go watch pops receive recognition for his 30 year service. Grammy and Pops came to see me this weekend! We celebrated Grammy's birthday (a week early) and ate lots of cake. Daddy and pops worked in the garden all weekend and mommy and grammy just had to go to target and shop! We had an amazing weekend. We celebrated my mother's birthday, Mother's Day, and Wilson's Dedication to the Lord at Riverside Ministry. God is so amazing and has blessed us with an incredible son! Cheris sang this wonderful song and had everyone crying and I wanted to share it with you.

I just wanted to post a note to say Thank You to all of our family and friends for everything you have done during this new chapter in my life. Especially the wonderful grandparents Grammy and Pappaw Loveday and Grammy and Pops Shepherd. Wilson is so blessed to be loved by you guys. And also my sister Keeli and sister in law Liz, I think I call them 100 times a week, sorry guys. I could just cry to think of all of the love and support we have recieved from everyone. We just cannot thank you enough, Wilson is our new love. I feel like I am getting closer to understanding GOD's love for his children, I cant imagine how he feels when we spend time with HIM and keep him number 1 in our lives. Ryan and I love every one of you guys and are so excited for Wilson to have many loving memories with you.
